Let’s take you back to January of 2020. This was the first time the idea of a fantasy jai-alai league was floated around The Jai Alai Channel office. At the time, however, we unanimously agreed that it might be a year away.
This was all BEFORE the launch of The Jai Alai Channel on YouTube. This channel not only gave fans an interactive and engaging broadcast experience for the first time, but also an opportunity to converse among other jai-alai enthusiasts in the live chat.
Now, fast forward to Week 3 of the Magic City Jai-Alai Season. While there is never a shortage of opinions in the live chat, one topic particularly caught my attention for all the right reasons: fantasy jai-alai.
In that instant, the gears started turning in my head. If the fans wanted it, we were determined to bring it to them, and I knew there would be fantasy jai-alai for Week 4. Just a few days later, the Magic City Jai-Alai Fantasy League was officially born!
So here’s how it works. Each week, you select a roster of four players: three (3) singles and one (1) doubles team. Every player has a price tag (from $2-10), and you have a fictitious $21 budget to compile your roster of four total selections (3 singles players and 1 doubles team).
You will receive five (5) fantasy points per win, three (3) per place, two (2) per show and one (1) per quad that your players/team earn during the playing week.
The contestant with the highest total team point total at the end of the week wins a prize. For the month of June, the winners received Magic City Jai-Alai hats, with the final winner of the month getting one signed by the winning team of our first doubles tournament of the season: Douglas and Limonte. For July, we have these special U.S. National Jai-Alai Championship (UNSJAC) hats as the winning prize! Plus, there will be a grand prize awarded to the contestant that has the most weekly wins over the entire jai-alai season.
New contests are available each week, so you can play whenever you want. Head over to fantasyjaialai.com to join the league, create an entry and start earning your way towards one of those prizes! Player stats and prices are updated weekly on the site, and you can find additional program information at www.magiccitycasino.com/jai-alai-entries-and-results.
Now that we’re through the rules, let’s get to the real story here.
Hats and t-shirts are great and all, but we get you want to make some real money if you invest time in this fantasy thing.
Well, I’m excited to announce that the power is now in your hands to make that a reality.
Scott Savin, COO of Magic City Casino and mastermind behind the MCJA program, announced during one of the broadcasts this past week that Magic City would start offering CASH PRIZES for the fantasy league winners once we reach the 200-contestant milestone!
That’s right. You could get REAL CASH PRIZES for playing this free fantasy jai-alai contest.
We started out 60 strong, and have steadily grown to over 90 participants in just six weeks. We can certainly do this, but we need your help to give this a shot.
And at the end of the day, you really have nothing to lose. It’s free contests for real cash. You don’t have to be a numbers guy to know that’s a damn good deal.
So what are you waiting for? Sign up at fantasyjaialai.com and let’s give you all a shot at some free money enjoying the sport we all love in the modern era.
